Installing and Viewing Connect IQ Content on the GPSMAP 66, 67, and 86 Series
Connect IQ™ apps, data fields, or widgets can be downloaded and installed from the Connect IQ Store using the Garmin Connect™ app on a smartphone to your GPSMAP® 66st, 66s, 66sr, 66i, 67, 67i, 86i, 86s, 86sc, or 86sci handheld device.
Pairing With the Garmin Connect App
Bluetooth pairing establishes a connection between your Garmin device and your smartphone through the Garmin Connect app.
IMPORTANT: Do not pair your Garmin device directly through the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone. You must pair the device through the Garmin Connect app to establish a proper connection to your phone.
Place your Garmin device into pairing mode. This allows the Garmin Connect app to find it.
This setting is found under Menu > Setup > Bluetooth > Continue. Refer to your owner's manual for specific steps.
From the Garmin Connect app select Start or Connect it.
Input the six-digit code from the Garmin device into the prompt on the phone.
Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the setup of your device. A sync should occur during this process and your Garmin device should display a green dot from the My Day view of the Garmin Connect app, indicating a connection with your mobile device.
Upon completion, the Connect app will display the Home view which will provide a snapshot of the data collected by your Garmin device.
Search for Connect IQ features by using one of the options below:
Select Search to search by title or filter categories.
Select to access the main menu and find popular Connect IQ content for your Garmin device.
NOTE: Contents of the main screen depend on the Garmin device you currently have selected. Not all of the Connect IQ features are supported on each Garmin device. Steps to change your device can be found below.
Once you have chosen content, select Install.
Select OK if a permissions window populates.
The Connect IQ content will be added to your sync queue. The content will be installed the next time your device syncs with the Garmin Connect app or Garmin Express™ program.
To sync via Bluetooth: Be in range of your paired Smartphone, Open the Garmin Connect app. Select to sync.
To sync using Garmin Express™ software: Connect the device using supplied power/data cable to computer. Open the Garmin Express program. Sync will automatically occur once device is detected.
Viewing Installed Connect IQ Content
Apps, data fields, and widgets are all accessed from different sections on the handheld. When installing connect IQ content, the content will be labeled with one of the following icons:
Apps .
Data Fields .
Widgets .
Connect IQ Apps
After downloading and installing an app from the Connect IQ Store, use the following steps:
Press MENU twice to access the main menu.
Select Connect IQ.
NOTE: You may need to add this icon to the menu page.
Select the Connect IQ app you wish to use.
Connect IQ Data Fields
After downloading and installing a data field from the Connect IQ Store, use the following steps to enable it:
Customizing Data Fields on the Compass, Trip Computer, or Altimeter/Elevation Plot Page
Open the page for which you will change the data fields.
Press MENU.
Select Change Data Fields.
Select a data field to change.
Select Connect IQ, then choose an option.
Press QUIT when you are finished.
Customizing a Data Field on the Map Page
While viewing the Map page, press MENU.
Select Map Setup.
Select Dashboard,
Select Large Data Field to set a specific data field to display at the top of the map.
NOTE: Altimeter, Compass, and Geocache dashboards are also available, but these dashboards cannot be customized.
Press QUIT to return to the Map page.
Press MENU.
Select Change Data Fields.
NOTE: If this option is not available, select Show Dashboard, then press MENU again.
Press ENTER to select the large data field.
Select Connect IQ, then choose an option.
Connect IQ Widgets
After downloading and installing a widget from the Connect IQ Store, you can view it from the widgets section on the handheld.
