Pairing an inReach Explorer or inReach SE to Android

An inReach SE or inReach Explorer can be paired with an Android device to compose, send and receive messages using the interface of your mobile device. Follow the instructions below to pair an inReach SE or Explorer to an Android device.

To Pair an inReach SE or inReach Explorer to Android

1. Turn on the inReach SE or inReach Explorer.
   
   
2. From the home page select Settings and press the Enter/Check button on the inReach. 
   
   
   
3. Select Bluetooth and press the Enter/Check button.
   
   
   
4. Select Pair inReach and press the Enter/Check button.
   
   
   
5. On the Android device, open Settings .
   
   
6. Tap Bluetooth.
   
   
   
7. If Bluetooth is not currently turned on, tap the OFF slider to enable it.
   
   
   
8. On the inReach, press the Enter/Check button.
   
   
   
9. Tap on the inReach device in the list of Bluetooth devices on the Android device. The inReach and Android device will now connect to each other.
   
   
   
10. Press the home button to return to the home page of the Android device. Launch the Earthmate app .
    Note: The Earthmate app is a free download from the Google Play Store.
    
    
11. The bottom right-hand corner of the application will show inReach Connected.
    
    
    Note: If inReach Connected does not appear on the bottom right-hand corncer of the app tap the menu button at the top of the app and select Connect.
