Why Can I Not Add Just One Route or Waypoint to My inReach

Collections on the Garmin Explore™ website are used for organizing what data you sync with your inReach® satellite communicator.

For new customers, the default setting will be to sync everything in your Library when you pair a new device. You can also assign a Primary Collection to your inReach device to only sync the data you choose. When a Primary Collection is assigned, the data you wish to transfer to your inReach device needs to have been placed in the assigned Primary Collection1 for said inReach. The same applies to data you wish to transfer to the Earthmate® app or Garmin Explore app: it relies on the assigned Primary Collection for the inReach that the Earthmate app or Garmin Explore app is paired to. 

For example, if you create a few routes for a trip you are planning and add them to Collection A but your inReach device's assigned Primary Collection is Collection B, the Routes will not transfer to your inReach device, the Earthmate app, or Garmin Explore app after syncing.

NOTE: Only routes and waypoints will transfer from the Garmin Explore website to your inReach device, Earthmate app, or Garmin Explore app. For more information on what items sync, see Related.
