Enabling the Yamaha J1939 Engine Interface on a GPSMAP Series Chartplotter

To enable the Yamaha Engine Interface on compatible GPSMAP chartplotters you will need the following:

  • A compatible GPSMAP® chartplotter with a J1939 port

    • GPSMAP® 7x2 (Plus) chartplotter | GPSMAP® 9x2 (Plus) chartplotter | GPSMAP® 12x2 (Plus) chartplotter

      • The GPSMAP 7x2 non-Plus model does not have a J1939 port so it is not compatible

    • GPSMAP® 7x3 chartplotter | GPSMAP® 9x3 chartplotter |  GPSMAP® 12x3 chartplotter | GPSMAP® 16x3 chartplotter

    • GPSMAP® 74xx chartplotter | GPSMAP® 76xx chartplotter

    • GPSMAP® 84xx chartplotter | GPSMAP® 86xx chartplotter

    • GPSMAP® 8700 chartplotter

NOTE:
• For the first year of production the 74xx / 76xx did not have the J1939 connection
• If a GPSMAP CL7 is Marine networked into the system it can share the Yamaha Engine Interface without having the Yamaha to J1939 Adapter Cable
• The TD 50 does not support the Yamaha UI Engine page

  • At or above February 2018 software update software version 11.00

  • The 010-12770-00 cable pictured below

  • A "Pigtail Bus Wire" available from a Yamaha Dealer
