Using a microSD Card in a Handheld
There are some things to keep in mind when using a microSD card in a handheld device:
- Your device automatically reads maps from a microSD card when powered on. If your device does not read the maps, see Related Content for possible solutions.
- Any user data created on the device, such as waypoints, routes, tracks or activities, are saved to the device's memory and cannot be saved to the microSD card1.
- Handheld devices have a limitation to the amount of data it can read, regardless if that data is on the device itself or on a microSD card. For more information, see - Managing Storage Space on Your Garmin Outdoor Handheld
1The only exception to this is that some older devices could save track logs to the card. For information, see - Log Track to Data Card for Older Garmin Outdoor Handhelds
