Adding a Strength Profile to the Forerunner 735XT

The Forerunner 735XT is preloaded with many activity applications, but do not cover all possible activities. Custom activities, such as Strength Training, can be created on the watch to capture the activity.

Creating a Strength Training Activity

NOTE: The Forerunner 735XT does not support Strength Training Workouts created with Garmin Connect and does not contain a rep counting feature. Rather than creating sets it create laps in the activity. Laps are not part of strength training, so if you choose to add exercises to the activity in Garmin Connect the laps will be removed in lieu of sets.

  1. Select the Start/Stop button (top right).

  2. Select the Down button to access the Menu.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Select Activity Profiles.

  5. Select +Add New.

  6. Select Strength.

  7. Choose a color.

  8. Select Strength.

  9. Select Edit Settings to customize Data Screens or Alerts, otherwise you can select Done.

The custom strength training activity is now ready to use.
