Find Tab Did Not Initialize (ISO Error) in Windows Vista or Windows 7
When performing a search in DeLorme® software, you may receive an error message that states, "Find Tab Did Not Initialize (ISO Error)."
This error can be the result of several issues:
Corrupt ODBC Drivers
Use the instructions below to reinstall the Jet40sp3 data access drivers.
- Download Jet40sp3 from within the link below.
http://files.delorme.com/support/patch/jet40sp3_comp.zip - Click Open on the File Download window.
- You may receive a security warning ...Choose to allow the file to be opened.
- Click Extract all files.
- In the Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders window note the location of the extracted file.
- Leave the Show extracted files when complete check box selected.
- Click Extract.
- A new window should open showing the file. Right-click jet40sp3_comp and select Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab and select the Run this program in compatibility mode for: check box.
- Select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the drop-down list.
- Click Apply and then OK.
- Double-click jet40sp3_comp.
- If asked, input your username and password and click OK.
- A copying files window will display.
- After the file copy completes, try the application again.
Incorrect System Date
Verify the system time and date are correct.
- Click the Windows clock in the bottom right of the PC desktop.
- Verify the date and time are correct.
- If not, choose Change date and time settings...
- In the Date and Time window, click the Change date and time... button.
- If asked, input your username and password and click OK.
- Correct the date and time and click OK.
- Test the application.
A Non-English Version of Windows
Use the instructions below to verify or change to the English version of Windows.
- Open the Windows Start Menu and choose Control Panel.
- Within the Control Panel, choose Classic View and open Regional and Language Options.
- Within the Regional and Language Options window, verify the current format is English (United States), and, if not, change it to English (United States).
- Click the Administrative tab and verify the Current language for non-Unicode programs: is set to English (United States).
- If it is click OK and retry application. If not, click Change System locale...
- If asked, input your username and password and click OK.
- In the Regional and Language Settings window change the locale to English (United States) and click OK.
- If you receive a message of "You must restart Windows for the changes to take effect", click Restart now.
- On restart, test the application.
