Controlling a Fusion® Stereo with a Garmin® Chartplotter

Most ECHOMAP™ and GPSMAP® devices have a Media page that can control a compatible stereo via NMEA 2000 or, on some stereos, the Garmin Marine Network / Garmin BlueNet™. Available features may differ by stereo manufacturer. This article will detail how to navigate the media page for controlling a Fusion® stereo. 

Note: A chartplotter may not display all features and settings available on a stereo



Navigating to the Media page


  1. Select Home

Source and Zones


Source and Zones appear at all times on the main Media page

  • Source allows a different source of audio available to the stereo to be chosen

  • Zones allows the volume of individual zones or all zones at once to be adjusted

AM and FM Source


  • Favorites shows all favorited stations

  • Select the scanning mode button to change how the stereo scans for stations

    • M allows manual scanning to any frequency

    • A automatically scans to the next available station

    • Star scans to the next favorited station

  • Tune to a station and select the star icon to favorite it

Bluetooth Source


  1. Select Source > Bluetooth

  3. Select Connections

  4. Select Discoverable to make the stereo discoverable via Bluetooth

  • The options to show Paired Devices and Remove Paired Devices also appear here

Auxiliary Source


  • Plays audio from a device connected to the Auxiliary port

Options menu


  • From the media page, select Options

  • Source changes sources just like Source on the main screen

  • Audio Levels adjusts the Subwoofer, Treble, Middle, and Bass

  • The Loud setting maintains frequency response at low volumes and increases perceived loudness at high volumes

    • Loud is enabled by default in all zones

  • Power turns on and off all connected stereos

  • Home Zone changes which zone from which connected media device is adjusted by default when adjusting volume
