Transfer Quickdraw Contours to a Different Micro/SD card

Users can transfer Quickdraw Contours from one micro/SD card to a different micro/SD card. 

NOTE:  Do not transfer Quickdraw Contour files onto a micro/SD card that already has an existing preprogrammed charts or cartography on that micro/SD card.

NOTE: Transferring Quickdraw Contour files onto a micro/SD card with an an existing chart or cartography may alter, damage, delete or distort the preprogrammed chart or cartography on the SD card. 

Example of a SD card with a pre-programmed chart or cartography:

  • G2 / G3 Lake Vu

  • G2 / G3 Lake Vu Ultra (East or West)

  • G2 / G3 Vision charts

  • G3 Standard Mapping

  • Built-in update chart or cartography micro/SD card associated to your chartplotter

To transfer a users Quickdraw Contour files from one micro/SD card to different micro/SD card, follow these steps:

  1. Insert the micro/SD card with the users Quickdraw Contours into a laptop / desktop computer micro/SD card slot

  2. Identify and open the drive associated to the micro/SD card

  3. Select the "GARMIN" File

  4. Copy the entire "GARMIN" File

  5. Paste the "GARMIN" file onto the other micro/SD card

NOTE:  ONLY Quickdraw Contours can be transferred onto a different micro/SD card. 

NOTE: Preprogrammed or built-In charts or cartography CAN NOT be copied or transferred to another micro/SD card using this method.  See the devices Owners Manual to "Copy Built-In Charts".
