Out of Box and Installation
The following video will walk you through the unboxing process, trainer setup, and bike installation:
When installing the Vortex resistance unit on the trainer frame, ensure that the resistance unit is in the correct position for your wheel diameter. The resistance unit being in the incorrect position could cause the cause the bike tire to either too loose or too tight when the locked into place. You can see the three position options on the resistance unit prior to attaching it to the trainer frame.
Axle Compatibility
Garmin Tacx smart trainers only support 10/12 mm axles. The Vortex Smart will come with a standard universal quick release axle skewer. This skewer will work with most bikes that feature a quick release skewer.
Universal Axle Skewer
Some bikes (especially mountain bikes) use what is called a thru-axle. Thru-axles thread directly into the bike's frame in order to hold the rear wheel in place. In the event that you have a bike that features a thru-axle, you will need to purchase one separately.

How Do I Know Which Axle I Have?
Generally the size will be stamped on the axle itself. If you are unsure of the size, consult the bike manufacturer or the place the bike was purchased from.
