Replacement Antenna for a Garmin GPSMAP 2xxx or 3xxx Series Device
Garmin has discontinued the GPS 17 N, GPS 17 HVS, and GPS 17x HVS antennas from production. If one of these antennas need to be replaced, the GPS 19x HVS antenna will need to be purchased and connected to the GPSMAP 2000 or 3000 series device.
To connect the antenna to this device, please follow these instructions:
- Solder the Orange wire from the power cable of the chartplotter to one end of the resister wire included with the antenna and solder the other end to the Orange wire of the antenna
- Connect the Green wire from the power cable of the chartplotter to the White wire of the antenna
- Connect the White wire from the power cable of the chartplotter to the Gray wire of the antenna
- Connect the Red wire from both the power cable of the chartplotter and the antenna to the positive (+) side of the power source on the boat
- Connect the Black wire from both the power cable of the chartplotter and the antenna to the negative (-) side of the power source on the boat (ground)
- Connect the Orange/White (Orange with a White stripe) wire of the antenna to the negative (-) side of the power source on the boat (ground)
Once the chartplotter and antenna are connected per the instructions above, the antenna should start receiving the GPS signal and sending the data to the chartplotter. For a wiring diagram to look at when installing the antenna, please refer to the Installation Manual for the chartplotter.
