Garmin eLog: Invalid File Error During Inspection

Follow the steps below if you experience an error message when submitting an inspection in the Garmin eLog app.

Error Example:

Bad Request

InvalidAuthenticationValue

 

The most likely reason for this error is a missing CMV ID number in the Garmin eLog App.

To Resolve this Error:


1) Verify the Garmin eLog App Software is Up-To-Date Before Following the Steps Below:

See Software Update and Version of the Garmin eLog ELD and App.


2) Verify a VIN and CMV ID are Assigned to the Current Vehicle Profile and Previous Vehicles:

The VIN and CMV ID are required for all vehicles. See Adding and Editing the VIN and CMV ID of a Vehicle in the Garmin eLog App.


Try the export again after entering the CMV ID number. See Garmin eLog ELD Inspection Process for instructions to submit inspection reports.
