How to Reconfigure a Wi-Fi Connection and Forget the Network on an Android Phone

While trying to review dash cam footage in the Garmin Drive App you may get the following message, 

"To improve connection stability we need to reconfigure this Wi-Fi connection. Go to your Android Wi-Fi settings, and 'Forget' the (specified) network":

To resolve this on your Android phone:

Note: These steps will vary depending on the phone model and OS combination


1. Touch Apps

    • Skip this on some phones

2. Touch Settings

3. Touch Connections

4. Slide the switch to the right to turn on Wi-Fi if it's off, then touch Wi-Fi

5. Touch the menu icon (3 dots)

6. Touch Advanced

7. Touch Manage networks

8. Under Saved Networks, touch the network you want to delete

9. Touch Forget

Red box around Forget Network  

The network is now deleted. Return to the Garmin Drive App to set up the Wi-Fi connection.
