How to Find the Serial Number on the Alpha XL Navigator

The Alpha® XL navigator has a serial number for the display and the power mount. Below will cover how to locate the serial number for both components.

Alpha XL Display

• 1. Remove the display from the VHF dock
  2. Located on the back of the display in the center is the serial number
      

Alpha XL VHF Dock

1. Remove the display from the VHF dock
2. Remove the VHF dock with ball adaptor from the clamp arm
3. Remove the four screws from ball adaptor
4. After removing the ball adaptor you will find the serial number on the VHF dock
                  

Using Garmin Express™ Program to Locate the Serial Number

Another way to get the serial number from your Alpha XL display is using the Garmin Express program to electronically retrieve the serial number using your compatible computer. To start you will need to download the Garmin Express program here, Garmin Express. Once installed and opened,

1. 1. Using the supplied USB cable with your Alpha XL connect the device to your computer
   2. On the Alpha from the Main Menu, select Settings (lower right corner)
   3. Select Tap to Connect to Computer
   4. In Garmin Express select Add a Device and follow the on screen prompts if your device is not listed
   5. If your device was previously added, select the device
   6. Select Tools and Content
   7. The serial number is listed un the Info tab
      
      

 Locating the Device Unit ID

From the main menu of the Alpha XL,

1. Select Settings
2. Select Device
3. Select About
