Ensure the Wi-Fi on the Garmin device is enabled.

Select ActiveCaptain from the home screen
Select Wi-Fi Network
Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on
If desired, use the directional pad to change the Wi-Fi name and Password
Force® Series Trolling Motors
Handheld Remote for the Force Trolling Motor turned on
Set Wi-Fi of the Force to ActiveCaptain mode: Menu button - Settings - Trolling Motor - Wi-Fi - Mode - ActiveCaptain
Make sure to setup a Wi-Fi name and password from the Handheld Remote
Wi-Fi settings of the mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi of the Force Trolling Motor
For GPSMAP® chartplotters
From the AV/Gauges and Controls menu, select ActiveCaptain
Select Wi-Fi Network
Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on
If desired, use the directional pad to change the Wi-Fi name and Password
Verify the Garmin device software is up to date. For instructions on updating the software, see Related Content.
Close any apps that are running in the background on the smart device
Restart the smart device
Connect to the chartplotters Wi-Fi signal
