All information below is based on your aircraft being blocked at the Subscriber Level with the FAA. FltPlan®.com Flight planning services is unable to block aircraft, you must do this with the FAA directly.
Whenever you Fly with your DCM Call Sign:
- You must file a flight plan with FltPlan.com. Any unauthorized use of the DCM call sign can result in Federal and Civil Penalties.
- You can Fly Internationally with your DCM Call Signs. If you are flying outside FltPlan.com’s coverage area (i.e., Europe), you may use alternate means to file, using your designated call sign(s) with associated, registered tail number only.
- You are responsible for any fees/charges that may be associated with your use of the DCM service. Therefore, your account may be billed for any of the following fees:
- Overflight
- Parking
- Air Navigation
- Air traffic services fees
- Any other fees/charges that an aviation authority charges FltPlan.com in association with your account’s use of a DCM call sign.
- In other cases, the aviation authority may bill you directly for these fees. On request, we will provide them with your name and contact information to assist them in identifying the appropriate party to bill or to answer for any violations/infractions associated with your use of a DCM call sign and/or flights conducted using your DCM call sign.
- When creating a new flight plan, your new DCM Call Signs will appear in the Call Sign drop-down box on the Flight Plan Entry Page. Select the call sign you would like to use at each flight, or set a default.
Flying with an ICAO registered DCM Call Sign and ADS-B Out:
- You must enter the DCM Call Sign with which you are filing as the Flight ID in your ADS-B out transmitter to avoid a mismatch.
- With ADS-B Out, there is no advance knowledge of your departure and arrival locations. Your flight is not shown until take off. Your arrival is not shown until you land.
- When your tail number is blocked, and you are using a DCM call sign, FlightAware will not display the DCM call sign or tail number. (Aircraft must be blocked at the subscriber level with the FAA.) Other third-party websites, that do not use FAA Swim Feed, may reveal flights with your tail#, above 18,000 feet, or 8 miles off the US coast. However, there will be no data in advance of your flight.
You can fly using your N# or select from the following:
- FAA-Blocked Call Sign (with ADS-B out, this DCM Call Sign may appear on 3rd party websites if the N# is not blocked)
- Trackable Call Sign (Is trackable by those who know the DCM call sign)
- Random Call Sign (Randomly assigned to your flight when you create your flight plan)
