Steps to Manually Install a File onto an Edge

NOTE: Some Edge cycling computers will only be able to complete the below suggestions on Windows. For information on these Edge cycling computers, see: My Mac Computer Is Not Recognizing My Edge

1. Plug the device into computer using the USB data/power cable.

2. Navigate to the Edge drive on the PC: 

   • For Windows: Windows Key + E to open Windows/File Explorer. Select This PC. Open the Garmin drive labeled as your device model. 

   • For Mac: Open Finder. Select Go in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Select Computer. Open the Garmin drive. 

3. Select the Garmin folder.

4. Select the NewFiles folder.

5. Place file(s) to be imported in the NewFiles folder.

   • NOTE: Compatible Edge devices can import .crs, .fit, .gpx, and .tcx files to the NewFiles folder.

6. Safely disconnect the device from computer.

The device will process files located in the NewFiles folder and convert into .fit files for use.
