User Data Limitations of Oregon 450(t) or 550(t)

When sending or creating files for an Oregon® 450, 450t, 550, or 550t handheld, keep in mind the following limitations:

  • 200 GPX files

  • 2,000 waypoints

  • 5,000 geocaches (There is still a limit of 200 GPX files on the device. A pocket query can be used to allow for a maximum of 2,000 Geocaches)

  • 200 routes, 250 points per route; 50 points turn-by-turn routing

  • 200 saved tracks

  • 2,000 archive tracks1

  • 10,000 points per track

  • 100 custom map tiles

  • 250 BirdsEye Imagery files

  • Mapping segments2 vary by model:

    • Oregon 450, 550: approximately 4,000

    • Oregon 450t, 550t: approximately 3,500 (due to internal mapping)

Each GPX file can contain a mixture of waypoints, geocaches, routes and tracks. If the GPX file containing a waypoint or geocache is deleted, the waypoint will no longer be available on the device.

When utilizing routes, only 50 points can be used for turn-by-turn navigation on roads or trails.

1 Archive tracks do not count against GPX file limit; 1 archive track per gpx file.
