Changing the Name of an Activity on the GPSMAP 66/67/86 Series

By default, saved activities will be named with the date and time the activity was recorded. While saving an activity you can change the name by selecting it at the top of the activity summary. However, once an activity has been saved there is no way to go back and edit the name of the activity directly on the handheld. Alternative solutions for renaming a saved activity are described below.

Save the Recorded Activity as a Track

Save the activity as a track, then rename the saved track on the handheld.

1. Press MENU twice to access the Main Menu.
2. Select Recorded Activities.
3. Select an activity.
4. Press MENU.
5. Select Save as Track, then select OK when prompted.
6. Press QUIT twice to return to the Main Menu.
7. Select Saved Tracks.
8. Select the newly saved track.
9. Press MENU.
10. Select Change Name.
11. Enter the new name, then select Done.

Rename the Activity in Garmin Explore

Saved activities can be synced to the Garmin Explore app. Once synced, the activity can be renamed in the Garmin Explore app. For more information on syncing, see Syncing a GPSMAP 66i/86i/86sci With the Garmin Explore Website and App or Syncing a Non-inReach Handheld With the Garmin Explore Website and App.

NOTE: This does not change the name of the activity on the handheld.

1. Open the Garmin Explore app.
2. Select .
3. Select Activities.
4. Select an activity.
5. Tap on the name of the activity.
6. Enter the new name, then select done or .
