Wrong date on a portable marine device despite having acquired satellites
If a Garmin portable marine device is displaying the incorrect year, even after acquiring the satellites, please follow these instructions:
- With the device powered ON, press the Menu button twice
- Highlight the Setup tab on the left side of the screen. If the Setup tab is not visible, keep scrolling down until it appears.
- Press the Right arrow button to highlight the System tab at the top of the screen
- Press the Down arrow button
- Press the Enter button
- Highlight Simulator and press the Enter button
- Press the Up arrow button
- Press the Right arrow button until the Time tab at the top of the screen is highlighted. If the Time tab is not visible, keep scrolling until it appears.
- Press the Menu button
- Highlight Set Date and press the Enter button
- Press the Enter button
- Use the Up, Down, Left, and Right arrow buttons to adjust the number to the correct year
- Press the Enter button
- Press the Left arrow button until the System tab is highlighted. If the System tab is not visible, keep scrolling until it appears.
- Press the Down arrow button
- Press the Enter button
- Highlight Normal and press the Enter button
- Allow the device to acquire satellites by leaving it in clear view of the sky
Once the device acquires the satellites, it will then display the correct time and date.
