Updating Software on a Compatible HRM
The HRM-Pro™, HRM-Pro Plus™, and HRM 600 monitors will receive software updates when paired with a compatible Garmin device or when paired with the Garmin Connect app.
How Do I Update the HRM Software Using My Garmin Device?
When a software update is available for your compatible monitor, this update will automatically download to your paired Garmin device. The next time your device connects to your monitor, it will ask if you want to update the monitor software. The update will take 5-10 minutes, and you can choose to do the update when prompted by the Garmin device or install the update later. If you choose to install the update later, select the Sensors and Accessories from your paired device's settings menu while wearing your monitor, and then select your heart rate monitor.
Use the following recommendations to ensure the monitor successfully updates:
Do not walk away from your Garmin device while wearing the monitor during the update. This will cause the strap and device to disconnect, causing the update to fail.
During the update, you can remove the monitor and place it on a table next to your Garmin device. The monitor will remain connected and have the best 'line of sight' to your Garmin device while completing the update.
- If you see an update failed message on your device, try updating the monitor using the Garmin Connect app.
How Do I Update the HRM Software Using the Garmin Connect App?
Both the HRM-Pro and HRM-Pro Plus use Bluetooth technology to pair with the Garmin Connect app for syncing User Settings and updating software. Follow these steps to update the software through the Garmin Connect app:
Put on the heart rate monitor.
Pair the strap with the Garmin Connect app (see Related ).
Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).
Select Garmin Devices.
Select your HRM-Pro, HRM-Pro Plus, or HRM 600.
Select General.
Select Update Available.
Select Update HRM-Pro, HRM-Pro Plus, or HRM 600.
Select Continue.
During the update, you can remove the heart rate monitor and set it on the table next to your phone. The montior will remain connected and have the best 'line of sight' to your phone while completing the update.
