Automotive Device Shutting Down or Rebooting While Plugged Into a Vehicle
Your Garmin Automotive device should not shut down or reboot while plugged into a vehicle. There are four main resolutions to this issue.
Make sure your Device is Plugged Directly into your Vehicle with its Original Garmin Power Cable
Do not use a splitter, USB, or third-party cable.
Ensure the cable is securely inserted into the power port on the powered mount.
See the video below for instructions.
dēzl™ LGV820, dēzl™ OTR820, dēzl™ LGV1020, and dēzl™OTR1020 GPS Navigators
Your vehicle power cable and receptacle need to be debris-free and clean in order to make a proper mechanical and electrical connection.
Ensure the cable is plugged in all the way to the cigarette lighter or 12V outlet and the LED light is lit up white.
Ensure there is nothing other than a Garmin Dash Cam connected to the USB power port on the mount.
See Using the USB Port on the Magnetic Mount for a list of the compatible Garmin Dash Cam models.
The device is designed to power itself off if the mount is overloaded or if something connected is drawing too much power.
A replacement Vehicle Power Cable can be purchased.
Remove any Memory Cards in the Device
Format the memory card if this resolves your issue.
Ensure the Device Software is Up to Date
Make Sure it is not Too Hot in the Vehicle
Shutdown logs can be sent to Garmin Product Support for review if the issue continues.
