Alpha 100 Pairing Up to 20 Dogs and other Handhelds

The Alpha® 100 dog tracking handheld can track up to 20 other devices, but the maximum number of other devices depends on Contact Tracking being turned On or Off in the system. 

  • Contact Tracking is Off: The Alpha can track up to 20 other devices. By default, Contact Tracking is set to Off in the system. 
  • Contact Tracking is On: The Alpha can only track up to 19 other devices. Contact Tracking On consumes one of the available ID number slots. 
  • In the scenario of two hunters with Contact Tracking turned On, and tracking each other, each of the Alphas would consume an ID number slot, leaving a maximum of 18 dog devices that can be paired. 

Adjusting the Contact Tracking Settings

  1. Touch Setup
  2. Touch Contacts
  3. Touch Menu lines
  4. Select Pairing Setup
  5. Select Contact Tracking On or Off
