flyGarmin Update: Managing and Sharing Aircraft

The flyGarmin.com® website has recently been updated to allow users to better manage and share aircraft. As the owner or administrator of an aircraft, you can choose to share aircraft with other Garmin users. Once shared, these users will be able to see the aircraft on their FlyGarmin aircraft list and view connected-cockpit dashboard information in the Garmin Pilot™ mobile app.

How to Share an Aircraft

After signing into the Owner or Aircraft Administrator's account on flyGarmin:

  1. Select Devices.

  2. Select the Aircraft.
  3. Select Manage Sharing next to the aircraft.

Adding a New User

  1. To add a user, select +ADD USER.

  2. Enter the user's email they use to sign into their flyGarmin account.  If they do not have a flyGarmin account, they will first need to create one.

  3. Select which Aircraft Role this individual user should have, including:

    1. Aircraft Administrator
    2. Aircraft User
    3. Aircraft User (RAS Receive)
  4. Select any additional permissions, including:

    1. The ability to view the aircraft flight logs.

    2. The ability to view the aircraft dashboard inside the Garmin Pilot app.

    3. The ability to trigger the remote aircraft status (RAS) for the aircraft.

  5. Select ADD USER.

The Aircraft Sharing page allows you to view a list of pending invites of users who who have been invited but have not yet accepted the invite.  Once the user has accepted the invitation, they should show under the Users With Shared Access list.
