Garmin® Marine New Chart Guarantee
The Garmin® New Chart Guarantee covers both preprogrammed cards and fixed-mount marine chartplotters that come preloaded with previous BlueChart g2 / g3 or LakeVü maps. If the mapping is not the most up to date version at the time of purchase, one free update is allowed within 12 months from purchase date.
Most handheld devices that come preloaded with marine maps (GPSMAP® 78, GPSMAP® 79 SC, GPSMAP® 86sc, and GPSMAP® 86sci, etc.) are not eligible for this program.
NOTE: The GPSMAP 78sc IS eligible for the Garmin New Chart Guarantee.
Note: BlueChart g2 mapping on a Garmin Data card is no longer updated or exchanged as of December 18, 2014. They are not eligible for this program and can no longer be updated.

If an offer for the New Chart Guarantee is not given upon registration, there are a few reasons this can occur:
The device had the current mapping version at the time it was registered
The device has been previously registered
The device's preloaded chart is 5 or more revisions behind and therefore does not qualify for the New Chart guarantee
The New Chart Guarantee has already been redeemed
NOTE: If the Garmin chartplotter comes preloaded with Garmin BlueChart® G3 or LakeVu® G3 the New Chart Guarantee will not allow the charts to be upgraded to a Garmin Navionics+™ subscription, it would cover the latest version of Garmin BlueChart / LakeVu G3.
