Garmin Marine micro/SD Card Requirements

Garmin Marine devices use a micro/SD card.

Ensure the micro/SD Card meets the following requirements:

• Previous devices use 4 - 32GB^*  

• Current devices use 8GB - 1TB** see New exFAT support on Garmin® Marine Devices

• Formatted to FAT 32, or exFAT for devices capable of using larger cards

• Class 4 or faster

Refer to Maximum micro/SD Card Capacity to Be Used with Garmin® Chartplotters to determine whether the device utilizes a Micro SD card or a full-size SD card. 

^*Some legacy chartplotters require software to be above 3.10 to use a 4GB micro/SD card.
