Removing Activity Files to Free Up Space on a Garmin Device
There are situations in when you would need to remove the activity files from a device. Examples of situations include but are not exclusive to the following.
Device is full and cannot install an update.
Activity file is corrupt and cannot be uploaded to your Garmin Connect™ account.
You can delete the activity files in a couple of ways.
Deleting Activity History on the Device
NOTE: Deleting activities on the device directly will only delete them from the device. Any activities that have previously synced to Garmin Connect will still be available in Garmin Connect. If there are specific activities that have not been able to sync to Garmin Connect, you can try manually uploading the files see How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?.
Many devices allow you to remove the activities directly from the menu on the device. To see if your device has this feature, refer to your owner's manual and search "Deleting History".
Deleting Activity .FIT Files Using a Computer

Windows Instructions
NOTE: Deleting .fit activity files only removes them from the device. Any activities that have previously synced to Garmin Connect will still be available in Garmin Connect. If there are specific activities that have not been able to sync to Garmin Connect, you can try manually uploading the files see .
Plug the device into a computer.
On your keyboard, press Windows key + E.
Select This PC (Windows 10 only).
Open the Garmin drive labeled as your model.
Open the Primary folder, if listed.
Open the Garmin folder.
Open the Activities folder.
Select the .fit file(s) to delete.
Activity .fit files will typically be titled in the following format but may vary.
Press Delete on the keyboard.
Confirm that you want to delete the selected file(s).
If you were having issues syncing, try again and you should now be able to sync successfully.
Mac Instructions
