What Type of Connector is Needed to Connect the GC™ 10 Camera to a Garmin® Marine Chartplotter?
The GC™ 10 Marine Camera uses a female BNC connector to output its video. Most Garmin chartplotters use a RCA connector for the video input. A BNC to RCA adapter is required to input the video to the chartplotter.
Garmin® offers a BNC to RCA adapter which can be purchased online or at a local retailer.
Some chartplotters, such as the GPSMAP® 8xxx, GPSMAP® 74xx, GPSMAP® 76xx, and GPSMAP® 7x1 series have female BNC connectors for the video input built in and do not require the above adapter. Rather, a male BNC to male BNC adapter is required. Although Garmin does not manufacture or sell this type of adapter, they can commonly be found at your local electronics store.
Information on what video ports your chartplotter has can be found on its product page, under the "Specs" tab, at www.garmin.com.
