About Garmin SMS messaging

Garmin’s sites and apps use SMS notifications for a variety of reasons such as account ownership verification, emergency assistance, or for other user-defined notifications.  If you have received an SMS message from us, it is because you have subscribed to receive notifications, or someone you know has chosen to make you their point of contact for specific events while using Garmin apps or devices.

How to opt-out or opt back into SMS notifications?

If you had previously opted in to receiving SMS messages in the past and are choosing to no longer receive notifications, or if you have received a notification for the first time and wish to no longer receive additional texts you can opt out of these messages by replying “STOP” to the automated message you received. If you have been enrolled to receive SMS messages for multiple types of events or apps each message will need to be opted out of individually. 

SMS notifications can be re-enabled at any time by responding to the last automated message with “UNSTOP”.
