Controlling a VIRB Action Camera With an Edge Device
The VIRB remote function allows you to control your VIRB® action camera using your Edge® cycling computer to start/stop video recording or take a photo.
Below are general steps. For specific steps on pairing sensors to your Edge or activating the Remote Control feature on your VIRB camera, you will need to refer to the Owner's Manuals for your Edge device and your VIRB camera.
Turn on your VIRB camera.
Turn on the Remote Control feature on the VIRB camera.
On the Edge, access the Menu or Settings.
Locate the screen on the Edge where you add sensors.
Search for the VIRB and add it.
Once the VIRB camera is paired it can be controlled through a VIRB data screen, the Connections/Status screen on the Edge, or a dedicated VIRB widget1 depending on what model of Edge you have. Here are some examples:

These Edge models have a Controls widget with VIRB controls available when VIRB camera is connected. To access the widget, swipe down on the screen and then swipe left or right to scroll over to the Controls widget:
NOTE: The Edge 540 Series widget can be accessed on the home screen by scrolling up.
Edge® 1030 | Edge® 1030 Plus
The Edge 1030 has a dedicated VIRB widget that is available when a VIRB camera is connected. To access the widget, swipe down from the top of the screen and then swipe left or right to scroll over to the VIRB widget:
Edge® 820
The Edge 820 has a Connections screen that displays the status of connected sensors. To access the Connections screen, swipe down from the top of the screen:

The Edge 800 uses a data screen to control the VIRB camera:
1 You can also set the recording mode to "Timer Start and Stop" to have the VIRB camera automatically start/stop recording when you start/stop an activity on the Edge. This setting can be changed by selecting the VIRB camera from the sensors menu on the Edge and then Sensor Details > Recording Mode.
