Garmin BaseCamp Not Detecting Devices on Newer macOS
NOTE: The Montana® 700, Montana® 700i, and Montana® 750i outdoor devices must be set to Garmin Serial or Garmin Spanner mode (under Setup > System > Advanced Setup > Interface) to be recognized BaseCamp™ software on Mac computers. The eTrex® SE, eTrex® Solar, Foretrex® 801, Foretrex® 901, Montana® 710, Montana® 710i, Montana® 760i, GPSMAP® 67, and GPSMAP® 67i outdoor devices are not recognized by BaseCamp software on Mac computers, but are compatible with the Garmin Explore™ app to to transfer data to or from the device. MacOS Catalina 10.15 and higher require permission to allow devices to connect with Garmin BaseCamp software. You may see a message that BaseCamp would like to access files on a removable volume.
Clicking OK will allow BaseCamp to recognize the device.
Clicking Don't Allow prevents BaseCamp from recognizing the device. This can be adjusted in the Security and Privacy settings on the computer if Don't Allow was accidentally selected.
NOTE: Some newer Mac computers may only have USB-C or Thunderbolt ports, which would require an adapter. Apple has a helpful support article that explains different USB types, how to identify them, and what adapters can be used: Identify the ports on your Mac. If the Security and Privacy settings are set to allow Garmin Express to access files on a removable volume and the device is still not being recognized, refer to the articles

Adjusting the Security and Privacy Settings on macOS Catalina 10.15, macOS Big Sur 11 and macOS Monterey 12
Select the Apple icon.
Select System Preferences.
Select Security & Privacy.
Select the Privacy tab.
Select Files and Folders.
Select the box next to Removable Volumes for Garmin BaseCamp to add a checkmark.
If Garmin BaseCamp is not listed in the privacy tab under Files and Folders, try creating a new Admin user on the Mac or try using another computer.
If this option does not appear after creating the new Admin user, the Mac may need to be serviced.
Select Quit Now. This message will only appear if Garmin BaseCamp is open or running in the background.
NOTE: The computer may need to be restarted after completing these steps for Garmin BaseCamp to detect the device.
Adjusting the Security and Privacy Settings on macOS Ventura 13, macOS Sonoma 14, and macOS Sequoia 15
Select the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the desktop.
Select System Settings.
Select Privacy & Security.
Select Files and Folders.
Select the arrow next to Garmin BaseCamp to expand it.
Enable Removable Volumes.
Select Quit & Reopen if prompted.
NOTE: You may have to restart the computer after completing these steps for Garmin BaseCamp to detect the device.
