Garmin Connect App: What Are the Colored Bars on My Calendar?

When viewing your Garmin Connect™ app calendar, you will see colored bars below each date. These represent different types of data recorded each day by your Garmin device, or scheduled items. Selecting any given day will show you the corresponding data with a matching color icon. Edge® cycling computers will only show a green bar for activities. Watches will will show the other colored bars.

If not all bars can fit in one day, a plus sign with a number will appear under the last bar. This means in addition to the number of bars representing data, there are additional items that can be revealed by tapping on that day.

NOTE: A bar with stripes through it indicates the data represented has a goal that was not met. For example, a day where your steps goal was not met would show the steps bar with lines through it.

Can I Customize Which Data I See On the Calendar?

By default all data types are enabled to display on the calendar. You can filter the calendar to show only certain types of data. Choose your phone platform below for instructions:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select Calendar.

    1. Android: Select three lines with sliders on a black background.

    2. iOS: Select three dots arranged vertically on a black background.

  3. Select Filter Calendar.

Select the items you would like to view on your calendar. The color of the icon in this menu corresponds to the color of the bar which will appear when that data is present on a particular day. For example if you have heart rate data for a certain date, a red bar will appear in the monthly view of the calendar for that date.
