Downloading BirdsEye Direct Satellite Imagery on the zūmo XT or zūmo XT2

BirdsEye Direct Satellite Imagery provides downloadable high-resolution map imagery, including detailed satellite imagery and topographical maps.

  • A subscription is not required and coverage is worldwide.

  • You can download BirdsEye Direct Satellite Imagery directly to your device when it is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

    • See the owner's manual of your device for instructions to connect to Wi-Fi.

  • Birdseye Direct Satellite Imagery is locked to one device and cannot be transferred to another device even if using a memory card.

  • The zūmo XT and zūmo® XT2 GPS navigators can accept up to 250 separate BirdsEye files as long as there is memory available.

    • Device functionality may be slowed as the number of BirdsEye files increases due to the amount of data the device needs to manage.

    • Consider removing infrequently used images if performance is impacted.

  • Garmin offers the most recent images that our BirdsEye providers make available.

  • You can typically expect an update once a year in heavily populated areas. An update can usually be seen every two years in lesser populated areas. Updates to less populated areas do not apply to all regions, some regions may experience longer time-frames between updates.

    • These time-frames are estimated and there is no notification when an area will be, or has been, updated.
