Team Tracking is not Working

When using Team Tracking with a Tread® XL - Baja Chase and/or Tread® XL - Race Edition GPS navigator and an InReach Flex Team Professional plan, you can track your team member's locations, speed, and share messages. There may be instances where you are not getting updated tracking data of your team members, or no tracking at all.

These examples include: 

  • Unable to see other team members on the map

  • Delay in updated tracking information

  • Unable to send or receive messages


Ensure the Device has a Flex Team Plan:

The Team Tracking feature will not function without the proper plan being active on the device. To ensure your device is on the correct usage plan:

  1. Select Team Tracking
  2. Select the Wrench icon in the top left
  3. Select About This Device
  4. Verify a Flex Team Plan is listed above Plan Usage

Check Plan usage

NOTE: All compatible plans will start with 'Flex Team.' All devices being used with Team Tracking are required to be under the same inReach Professional Account for the devices to communicate and track one another.


Verify the Device has a Satellite Signal:

If your device has not acquired a signal, see Garmin Automotive Device isn't Acquiring Satellites.


Check the Device for Updates:

Outdated software can cause issues with certain features. See Wireless Map and Software Update Instructions.
