Takeoff and Climb Phase
TAKEOFF / INITIAL CLIMB
In preparation for takeoff and climb to 10,000 ft. AGL, adjust the range to between 40-60 NM and leave the tilt set at UP 7.50° - 10.00°. This provides for minimized ground clutter while observing for precipitation returns in the departure path and while climbing out to 10,000 ft. AGL (see example figure 21).
TILT: UP 7.50° - 10.00°
RANGE: 40-60 NM
CLIMB FROM 10,000 FT. to FL180
As you continue your climb above 10,000 ft. AGL, adjust the range to 60-80 NM and adjust the tilt angle to UP 3.00° to 5.00°. You may also wish to select Altitude Compensation Tilt to ON to allow that feature to continually adjust tilt downward as you climb to your cruising altitude.

RANGE: 60-80 NM
