How to Locate the Serial Number or Unit ID on an Outdoor Watch

Every Garmin Outdoor watch will have a unique serial number and unit ID number to identify it. The serial number is a combination of 9 letters or numbers, without spaces or dashes, printed on the watch.

The location of the serial number varies by model:

On the Back of the Watch

Garmin Outdoor watch

On the Watch Under the Band

Finding the Unit ID

The Unit ID is a 10 digit number found in the system information of the watch. This can typically be found in the About screen. Refer to your owner's manualfor steps on finding the About screen.

In the Garmin Connect™ App

For Garmin watches that support Real Time Settings the Unit ID can also be found in the Garmin Connect app. Follow the below instructions to locate the Unit ID:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Open the Menu.

    • Android: Select 3 vertically stacked lines (top left). 

    • iOS: Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your device.

  5. Select System.

  6. Select About.

The Unit ID will be located under the device name.
