Using Map Manager on Garmin Watches

The following Garmin® watches have a Map Manager feature that allows you to add, update, or remove maps directly from the watch:

  • D2™ Mach 1

  • Enduro™ 2

  • epix™ (Gen 2) | epix™ (Gen 2) Porsche Edition | epix™ (Gen 2) Sapphire

  • epix™ Pro (Gen 2) Standard Edition | epix™ Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition

  • fēnix® 7 Standard Edition and all other models in the fēnix 7 series

  • fēnix® 7 Pro Solar Edition and all other models in the fēnix 7 Pro series

  • Forerunner® 955 | Forerunner® 955 Solar

  • Forerunner® 965

  • MARQ® Adventurer and all other models in the MARQ Collection

  • MARQ® Adventurer (Gen 2) and all other models in the MARQ (Gen 2) Collection

  • quatix® 7 Standard Edition | quatix® 7 Sapphire Edition | quatix® 7X Solar Edition

  • tactix® 7 Standard Edition | tactix® 7 Pro Edition | tactix® 7 Pro Ballistics Edition

When your watch is connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can download available map updates or download maps for additional regions. You can also remove maps to increase storage space on the watch.

The Garmin Express™ program can also be used to manage and download maps. For more information, see Related content below.

NOTE: If your device includes preloaded golf maps, the ski resorts map or the U.S. public lands map they can be updated with the Map Manager.

Using the Map Manager

NOTE: Downloading maps over Wi-Fi can drain the battery, and download times can vary depending on the size of the map and your internet connection. The watch queues the map download for later, and the download starts when you connect the watch to a wall AC adapter. Connecting to a computer USB will not start the download.

  1. Hold MENU.

  2. Select Map.

  3. Select Map Manager.

  4. Select a map category.

  5. Proceed with the steps for adding, updating, or removing a map:

Adding a Map

NOTE: This option is mainly available for TopoActive maps and will only be presented if there are additional maps regions available to download.

  1. Select Add Map.

  2. The watch will then attempt to connect to Wi-Fi in order to provide a list of available maps.

  3. Select the desired map.

  4. Press START.

  5. Select Download.

The map download will begin when your watch is plugged in to a wall AC adapter.

Updating a Map

  1. Maps that can be updated will say "Update Available" next to them. Select the map you wish to update.

  2. Press START.

  3. Select Update.

The map download will begin when your watch is plugged in to a wall AC adapter.

Removing a Map

NOTE: A Wi-Fi connection is not required to remove maps. Not all maps will have the option of being removed.

  1. Select the map you wish to remove.

  2. Press START.

  3. Select Remove.
