HuntView Plus Map Details, Use, and Coverage

Garmin HuntView™ Plus maps provide the same features as the original HuntView maps1 that you can view during your hunt along with several new features including: 

To purchase HuntView Plus mapping, visit the product page. To view coverage information for each state, choose the Parcel Coverage box on the product page. 


HuntView Plus Purchase Options:

HuntView Plus maps are purchased separately for each state and are available in the following options. 


Preloaded MicroSD Card

  • Map is used by inserting preloaded microSD card into compatible Garmin device
  • MicroSD card needs to stay inserted in the device while using it, but can be transferred in between different Garmin devices

Topo Map - 1:24,000 Scale

The topographic map detail included in HuntView Plus maps is similar to our Topo 24k maps which are the most detailed topo maps we offer. The 24k map provides elevation contour lines up to every 20 feet but can vary from place to place.


Birdseye Satellite Imagery for the Entire State 

Every HuntView Plus map features BirdsEye Imagery for the entire state built into the map. While viewing the map, the included BirdsEye Imagery can be toggled on or off as needed by pressing Menu > Enable/Disable Imagery on a button-based device or by tapping Layer Icon on a touchscreen device.

NOTE: The resolution of BirdsEye Imagery included in HuntView Plus is comparable to the Standard resolution level of BirdsEye Subscription images downloaded in BaseCamp™. If the resolution of the imagery in HuntView Plus is not high enough additional imagery can be downloaded using BirdsEye Direct on compatible devices. 


Property Lines and Land Ownership

HuntView Plus shows available landowner information for different parcels including details about public land and the managing agencies, private landowner names and tax addresses, and other state-specific information about hunting units and zones.


How to View Landowner Information with HuntView Plus:

Viewing landowner information within the HuntView Plus map is accessed from the map of the Garmin device.


Button-Based Device

On a compatible button-based handheld, the map cursor is used to select parcels to view landowner information

  1. Using the directional arrows and zoom controls, pan the map to center the cursor over the parcel of land you would like to view
  2. Press Enter to select the location and view landowner information

On a compatible touchscreen handheld, HuntView Plus data is viewed by touching a point on the map.

NOTE: On the Alpha® 100 and Alpha® 200, the Map Pointer should be enabled to select a point on the map to view HuntView Plus Parcel data. For steps to enable the Map Pointer, view Advanced Map Settings in the Owner's Manual.
