Setting a Proximity Alarm on GPSMAP 60 or 76 Series

The Proximity Alarm feature will alert you when you are within proximity to a specific location. For example, if you set a proximity alarm for a waypoint with a radius of two miles, the GPSMAP® 60CSx, 60Cx, 60CS, 60C, 60, or GPS 60 handheld gives an alert once you are reaching two miles from the waypoint.

To setup the proximity alarm:

  1. Press the Menu button twice
  2. Choose Proximity
  3. Press Enter on dashes under Name
  4. Select the specific location
  5. Choose Use
  6. Press Enter on radius field (default is 1 mile)
  7. Insert radius measurement for location the device will alert at
  8. Press OK

The device will now alert when within range of the location.

The units of measurements (miles, kilometers) can be changed in the Units page found in the Setup menu.
