Oregon and Colorado devices "Map Update Card Found" error with Bluechart g2 or g2 Vision Card

If the error message "Map Update Card Found. Would you like to update your maps? If you have already updated your maps with this card, select No and remove the card." appears, the internal operating software of the device will need to be updated.

If Yes is chosen when this message appears, the device will validate the update and display a message of Loader Loading and will freeze on this screen. The batteries will need to be removed and re-inserted before the device can be used again.

This message occurs when the Oregon® or Colorado® outdoor handheld's internal operating software is out of date. The BlueChart® g2 or BlueChart® g2 Vision map card that was inserted into the device has a software update file programmed to it that is designed to update the internal operating software of the larger marine chartplotters and sounders. When the Oregon or Colorado devices see this file on the card, the device believes this file is a map update file for the device.

Garmin has corrected this, with a software update to the device. To update the internal operating software of the device, please use the Garmin Express™ program.
