Squelch Modes in the Radio App on the zūmo XT

You can adjust the Squelch mode in the Radio App on the zūmo® XT GPS navigator to improve quality and avoid radio interference in your area.

NOTE: The Group Ride Radio (5.5") (Sold Separately) and a software update are required to use the Radio features.

Open - Manually adjust squelch for static noise

• Slightly better range performance.

CTCSS - Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System

• Allows you to mute other people nearby using the same frequency.

• Only hear individuals who are in the Group Ride or have manually set to the same code.

To Adjust the Squelch Mode on the zūmo XT:

1. Touch Radio.

 

2. Touch one of the following options below.

•  Touch Preset to view the available radio presets.

 

• Touch Channel to view the available MURS channels.

 

 

• Touch Open (Manually adjust squelch for static noise), CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System), or DCS (Digital Code Squelch) depending on what current mode is selected to view the additional options.

 

 

3. To Choose a squelch code within the current mode, select the plus or minus.
