Setting Up MapShare for GPSMAP 66s/sr/st and Montana 700
The Garmin Explore website allows for owners of compatible Garmin devices to easily share their tracks, waypoints, routes, and activities through MapShare. Unlike when using inReach devices, MapShare does not display tracking in real time and any data to be shared must be synced through the Explore app or created on the Garmin Explore website to be displayed on the MapShare.
MapShare is good way share your explorations with friends, family, and the outdoor community.

Enabling MapShare
Follow the instructions below to turn on your MapShare page.
- Log in at the Garmin Explore website
- Select Social
- Click the MapShare Consent box
- Select MapShare: Off to turn on the MapShare. If you see MapShare: On, the MapShare is already on and no action is needed.
Optional: Change the MapShare Address
- Select Save Changes
Sharing MapShare
Use the instructions below to easily share your MapShare page using email.
- Log in at the Garmin Explore website
- Select the Social tab
- Select the Email to send a message via email with your MapShare link
Configuring MapShare
MapShare Options allow for the ability to customize your MapShare page to suit your prefrences. For example, you can set a password for your MapShare page to restrict who can see your locations. Use the instructions below to customize your MapShare options.
- Log in at the Garmin Explore website
- Select the Social tab
- Select Configure MapShare Settings or Filter MapShare Data
- Make changes to the MapShare Settings or Filters.
- Sent to MapShare is a collection permanently shared to your MapShare page. This collection can only be turned off when MapShare is disabled.
- By Use Filters to share only certain Collections, or data after a specific date. Use settings to give the MapShare a name, description, or to set password.
- Select Save Changes
