"We had a problem signing in" Error in the Garmin Drive App/dezl App for Android

When trying to sign into the Garmin Drive App/dezl App on an Android phone, the following message can appear: "We had a problem signing in. Android WebView is experiencing an error. Check for Android system updates or update the WebView app using the link below."

 


To Resolve This Issue, Update the WebView App:

  1. Open the Google Play Store

  2. Search for Android System WebView

  3. Find "Android System WebView by Google, Inc."

  4. Tap Update if there is an update available

  5. Restart your phone

Once restarted, open the Garmin application again to see the sign-in page.


If your Phone is Still Receiving the Error or did not have an Update to Android System WebView, Update the Google Chrome App:

  1. Open the Google Play Store

  2. Search for Chrome

  3. Select "Chrome Browser - Google" or "Google Chrome."

  4. Tap Update if there is an update available

  5. Restart your phone

If WebView is up to date along with all other Chrome apps, contact your phone manufacturer or Google for a resolution.


Disable Wi-Fi:

  • In your phone's Settings (Wi-Fi settings), temporarily turn off Wi-Fi. This will allow the connection to go through cellular.
