Syntax Error While Activating an inReach Device
When a Syntax error is displayed while activating a Garmin inReach® satellite communicator, check the information you have entered (i.e. first and last name under My Info or Billing).
A browser caching issue can also cause a Syntax error. Trying a new browser or clearing your internet cache should resolve the issue and allow you to continue with the activation.
Resolving a Syntax Error:
- Perform one of the following:
- Open a different internet browser
- Clear your current browser cache: Clear the Browser History, Cache, and Temporary Internet Files
- Use your current browser's private or incognito mode
- Open a different internet browser
- Open the Garmin Explore™ website.
- Select Sign In.
- Input your account's login information.
- After signing in, it will likely need you to input your Authorization Code again
The activation process should now pick up where you left off. You may have to click Next to cycle through the pages, but the previously entered information should populate.
