Overview of the Garmin Explore Website
The Garmin Explore™ website is used for activating service on new inReach devices, maintaining the account, and viewing user data. It now features the ability to sync data from other compatible Garmin devices when used with the Garmin Explore™ app.
When visiting this page for the first time, select one of the options under Create a New Account for either activating service to an inReach® satellite communicator, or connecting other Garmin devices. After selecting one of these options, the website will walk through the initial setup process. For a list of compatible devices, see - Devices Compatible With the Garmin Explore Website.
Once the Account Setup Is Completed, the Following can be done for All Devices:
- View device data on a map
- Create waypoints and routes to sync to the device
- Sync the Garmin device with a compatible Garmin app:
For inReach Devices With an Active Plan, These Services Are Also Available:
- Monitor monthly usage
- View conversation history
- Add people to contacts (including emergency contacts)
- Set up your check-in/preset and quick text messages
- Set up social media accounts (including the MapShare web page)
- Make adjustments to the plan
