GPSMAP 6xxx or 70xx/72xx freezing on the Garmin splash screen

If a GPSMAP 6xxx or 70xx/72xx series chartplotter freezes when the Garmin splash screen is displayed while the device is being powered on, this is likely due to an issue with the internal operating software of the device. To correct the issue, an update needs to be applied to the device using the Forced Update procedure. For instructions on how to update the device, please review the Related Content.

If the Forced Update does not correct the issue, contact Garmin support as the device will need to be sent in for repair.
