Viewing Charts from a Preprogrammed or Downloaded Marine Map Card on a Computer
Notes:
• Garmin HomePort is discontinued; see HomePort Application Discontinued.
• Garmin HomePort is not compatible with g3 charts, including BlueChart g3, BlueChart g3 Vision, LakeVu g3, and LakeVu g3 Ultra.
Garmin HomePort is an application used to view certain marine charts from preprogrammed or downloaded map cards (including micro/SD cards and Garmin Data Cards) on Windows computers. See for a list of charts that can be viewed in Garmin HomePort.
It may be necessary to download the latest version of Garmin HomePort to read some maps:
Select Help from the menu bar at the top
Select Check for Software Update…
If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update
After updating Garmin HomePort, insert the SD or Garmin Data Card into the appropriate card reader and open the program.1 Garmin HomePort will automatically read the card and display the map.
1 If viewing a chart loaded to a Garmin Data Card, the card must be inserted into the card reader and plugged into the computer before opening Garmin HomePort. To view a different data card, close Garmin HomePort and reopen the program after the cards have been switched.
