Forms of Payment Accepted by Garmin

Garmin offers several payment options when checking out. For details, see the options below.

Credit Cards:

Garmin accepts all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express*, and Discover. Credit cards are not charged until your order ships, however a pending charge may appear. This is an authorization* hold to ensure funds are available. FSA and HSA cards are accepted for approved devices.

Gift Cards and Pre-Paid Cards:

Garmin accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express*, and Discover gift cards. The gift card amount must be equal to or greater than the order total amount. If funds are not greater or equal to the total amount of the order, the order will not process and pending charge will fall off and remain on gift card. Gift cards are not charged until your order ships, however a pending charge may appear. This is an authorization hold to ensure funds are available. Some gift card companies may not allow pending charges or reoccurring charges and it will be denied. Please refer to your gift card issuing company for their rules and restrictions. 

PayPal:

Garmin accepts PayPal as a form of payment for online purchases as well as Product Support orders placed through the Order Management tool for US and CA customers that self-checkout. For orders or exchanges paid for by PayPal, the payment is deducted at the time of order placement. This method is not available for subscriptions.

Klarna:

Garmin accepts Klarna as a form of payment for online purchases as well as Product Support orders placed through the Order Management tool for US and CA customers that self-checkout. For orders or exchanges paid for by Klarna, the payment is authorized at the time of purchase and then captured at the time of shipping. This payment method is not available for subscriptions.

MX Installment Plan:

Garmin accepts Installment plans for Mexico if both the Billing and Shipping address have Mexico as the country, upon selecting the credit card payment option. A new Number of Installments (Número de plazos) drop-down exists offering 1-12 installments (the number of installments available varies based on the order total). Installment orders are authorized and funds captured at the time the order is placed. 

Payment Limitations:

• *American Express is not accepted on Canadian orders at this time.
• *Mexico does an authorization for the full amount at time the order is placed
• Forms of payment for Australian and New Zealand orders are limited to Visa and MasterCard.
• Garmin only accepts one payment method per order. Gift cards cannot be combined with another Credit/Debit card.
• Checks, Money Orders and Purchase Orders (PO) are not accepted for consumer orders.
• Subscription based purchases can only be setup using one of the major credit or debit cards.
