Barklimiter 2 Without Smart Phone

The BarkLimiter™ 2 bark correction collar does not require a smartphone in order to be used.  If you choose to use the device as a stand alone device, then follow the steps below to choose the desired mode.

Note: Pairing to a smartphone and using the Garmin Canine™ app will enable additional features¹.

Changing the mode on the BarkLimiter 2 collar:

1. Remove the collar band from the device.
2. Press the mode button until the green LED indicates the current mode.
3. Press the mode button within two seconds to cycle the green LED through the modes, and select a mode.
   • Tone: Activates an audible tone. A tone can provide a patterned interruption to stop a behavior. The tone can be more effective when it is already associated with a negative consequence or alternate behavior.
   • Autorise Stimulation / Smart Mode: Details listed below
   • Vibration: Applies a vibration to the dog for a short period of time to help break focus on the current cause of a behavior. The effectiveness of the vibration may vary based on the dog's temperament and experience.

Autorise: When a dog barks, it will be corrected by the device with stimulation. It will only send one correction within a four second window to give the dog a chance to respond. If the dog continues to bark, the collar will increase the intensity level of the stimulation reaching the highest level within 30 seconds. Should the dog refrain from barking, the device will slowly decrease the intensity level reaching the lowest level within 30 minutes. This ensures the dog is corrected at the right level.

¹ Smartphone features that require the Garmin Canine app are features like software updates, the ability to see how often the dog it barking with correction applied and the ability to change the stimulation level to a manual number set, and adjusting the number of free barks the dog can make before a correction.
