Using the Manage Maps Feature in Garmin Express for the Tread
The Tread includes additional mapping at no cost.
- This includes road maps (City Navigator), Points of Interest, and topographical maps
- Garmin Express can be used to install additional mapping and remove mapping from the device
- The Tread Wi-Fi feature cannot be used for this process
To Manage Maps in Garmin Express:

1. Open Garmin Express and select your Tread
- See How Do I Install Garmin Express? if you haven't installed Garmin Express
- See Adding and Removing Devices in Garmin Express for instructions to add your device to Garmin Express
2. Click Manage Maps
3. Select any additional map regions you want installed on your Tread
- Check marks indicate maps currently installed on your Tread
- Click View to see the map coverage for a region
- Regions will include all available road maps and topographical maps
- Uncheck any maps you want to remove from your Tread
- These maps can be reinstalled later
- Some maps will have an information icon
- Some maps are required for your device to operate and cannot be removed
- Some maps may be too large to fit on your device's internal storage
- The bar at the bottom will show the amount of free space remaining on your Tread
- You will see the free space decrease or increase as you as choose mapping to add or remove
- You can also install mapping to a memory card if your Tread is low on space
- Click the Removable Storage tab and follow the on-screen instructions to use a memory card
4. Click Apply Changes once you have chosen all the mapping you want to add or remove
5. Click Accept if prompted
6. Click Continue
